Job Description

Key Responsibilities

Academic Responsibilities

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging Social Science lessons aligned with the prescribed curriculum.
  • Teach History, Geography, Civics, Political Science, Economics, and related subjects as applicable.
  • Develop students' analytical, critical thinking, research, and problem-solving skills.
  • Use innovative teaching methodologies, project-based learning, and digital tools to enhance classroom learning.
  • Prepare lesson plans, worksheets, assignments, assessments, and teaching-learning resources.
  • Integrate current affairs and real-life examples into classroom discussions.


Student Assessment

  • Conduct formative and summative assessments as per school guidelines.
  • Evaluate assignments, projects, and examinations objectively.
  • Monitor student progress and maintain academic records.
  • Identify learning gaps and provide academic support to improve student performance.


Classroom Management

  • Create a positive, inclusive, and student-centred classroom environment.
  • Maintain discipline and encourage responsible behaviour.
  • Promote collaborative learning, discussion, and active participation.


Parent Communication

  • Communicate regularly with parents regarding students' academic progress and overall development.
  • Participate in Parent-Teacher Meetings (PTMs) and provide constructive feedback.
  • Address parent concerns professionally and collaboratively.


Co-curricular Responsibilities

  • Organize and participate in activities such as debates, quizzes, exhibitions, Model United Nations (MUN), heritage walks, educational tours, and Social Science fairs.
  • Support students in inter-school competitions and school events.
  • Encourage students to participate in community engagement and environmental awareness initiatives.


Administrative Responsibilities

  • Maintain attendance, assessment records, and student portfolios.
  • Prepare academic reports and documentation as required.
  • Participate in staff meetings, professional development programmes, and school committees.
  • Perform other academic and administrative duties assigned by the Principal.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in History, Geography, Political Science, Economics, or Social Science.
  • B.Ed. is mandatory.
  • Master's Degree in the relevant subject will be preferred.
  • CTET/TET (where applicable) will be an added advantage.
