Job Summary
We are starting an in-house freight forwarding function and are looking for an experienced Senior Operations Executive who can independently handle booking, pricing with shipping lines, and complete end-to-end shipment operations. The candidate should have strong knowledge of import–export procedures, hazardous cargo handling, and documentation.
Key Responsibilities:
Freight Booking & Pricing
Obtain competitive freight rates from shipping lines and NVOCCs.
Negotiate pricing for both import and export shipments.
Coordinate space bookings and monitor vessel schedules.
Shipment Operations
Handle end-to-end shipment execution for import and export cargo.
Coordinate with shipping lines, transporters, warehouses, and CHAs.
Track shipments and provide status updates to internal teams and customers.
Documentation
Prepare and verify shipping documents such as:
Commercial Invoice
Packing List
Bill of Lading / Draft BL
Shipping Bill / Bill of Entry
MSDS and hazardous cargo declarations
Ensure compliance with regulations related to hazardous chemicals.
Compliance & Coordination
Ensure all shipments follow DG (Dangerous Goods) and IMDG guidelines.
Coordinate with CHAs for customs clearance.
Maintain proper shipment records and documentation.
Vendor & Stakeholder Management
Maintain relationships with shipping lines, freight partners, and transporters.
Resolve operational issues and minimize delays or extra costs.
Key Requirements:
Experience: 4–6 years in freight forwarding or shipping line operations.
Strong knowledge of import/export processes.
Hands-on experience in hazardous cargo handling.
Good understanding of shipping documentation.
Experience in dealing with shipping lines and CHAs.
Proficiency in MS Excel and logistics software (preferred).
