We are hiring Mechanic for Shipbuilding at Kandla Port.

Key Responsibilities

Mechanical Installation & Maintenance

• Install, align, dismantle, repair, and maintain marine engines and auxiliary machinery.
• Carry out maintenance of pumps, compressors, valves, gearboxes, winches, and hydraulic systems.
• Assist in installation of propulsion systems and shaft alignment works.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance activities.

Troubleshooting & Repairs

• Diagnose mechanical faults and breakdowns in marine equipment.
• Repair defective components using appropriate tools and methods.
• Conduct testing and operational checks after repairs.

Shipbuilding & Dry Dock Support

• Support vessel construction, dry docking, and commissioning activities.
• Assist during machinery trials, pressure testing, and sea trials.
• Coordinate with fitters, welders, electricians, and engineers during repair activities.

Safety & Quality Compliance

• Follow shipyard safety regulations and permit-to-work systems.
• Ensure all work complies with technical specifications and quality standards.
• Maintain housekeeping and safe handling of tools/equipment.

Documentation & Reporting

• Maintain maintenance records and job completion reports.
• Report equipment defects and spare part requirements to supervisors
