Role Description The Safety Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Mundra, responsible for overseeing occupational health and safety practices across operations. This role involves developing, implementing, and monitoring safety policies and procedures to ensure compliance with relevant regulations and company standards. The Safety Manager conducts regular safety audits, risk assessments, and inspections, and leads investigations into incidents and near misses to identify root causes and corrective actions. Day-to-day tasks include planning and delivering safety trainings, maintaining safety documentation, coordinating with operational teams to mitigate hazards, and promoting a proactive safety culture. The role also requires close collaboration with leadership and project teams to integrate safety considerations into all phases of industrial and maintenance activities.
Qualifications
Strong knowledge of Occupational Health practices and industrial safety standards, with the ability to apply them in an operational engineering environment.
Experience in Environment Health and Safety (EHS) management, including regulatory compliance, risk assessment, and implementation of safety programs.
Proficiency in Safety Training design and delivery, with the ability to engage diverse teams and improve safety awareness and behavior.
Hands-on experience in Accident Investigation and incident analysis, including root cause identification and development of preventive measures.
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Safety Management, Environmental Science, or a related field; relevant professional certifications (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH, OSHA) are an advantage.
Familiarity with Indian industrial safety legislation and standards applicable to manufacturing, fabrication, and O&M environments.
Strong analytical, documentation, and reporting skills, with attention to detail and the ability to prioritize tasks in a dynamic setting.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with site teams, leadership, and external stakeholders.
Previous experience in a safety management role within industrial, engineering, or manufacturing operations is highly beneficial.
