Role Overview:
The School Counsellor will support students’ emotional, social, and academic development by providing counselling services, preventive programs, and guidance to students, parents, and staff.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide individual and group counselling sessions to students
Address behavioural, emotional, and academic concerns
Support students during crisis situations
Conduct awareness sessions on mental health and wellbeing
Guide students on career planning and subject choices
Collaborate with teachers to support student development
Maintain confidential counselling records and reports
Engage with parents to discuss student progress when required
Eligibility Criteria:
Master’s degree in Psychology / Counselling
Diploma or certification in School Counselling preferred
Minimum 2–3 years of experience in a school setup
Key Skills:
Strong interpersonal and listening skills
Empathy and confidentiality
Behaviour management strategies
Crisis intervention
Report writing and documentation
