Job Description
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and review shipbuilding drawings, layouts, and technical specifications
- Supervise ship construction, fabrication, outfitting, and commissioning activities
- Coordinate with design, production, procurement, and quality teams
- Ensure compliance with marine regulations, class rules, and safety standards
- Monitor project schedules, budgets, and construction progress
- Conduct inspections, testing, and troubleshooting during construction
- Support dry docking, repairs, and vessel modifications
- Review welding, piping, structural, and machinery installation work
- Maintain project documentation, reports, and technical records
- Liaise with ship owners, vendors, subcontractors, and classification authorities
Required Skills
- Knowledge of shipbuilding processes and marine engineering systems
- Understanding of hull structure, piping, machinery, and outfitting
- Familiarity with IMO, SOLAS, MARPOL, and class society regulations
- Proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD, AVEVA Marine, ShipConstructor, or Tribon
- Strong project management and coordination skills
- Problem-solving and analytical abilities
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Experience with commercial ships, offshore vessels, or defense projects
- Familiarity with ERP/project management tools
- Experience in dry dock planning and vessel repair projects
- Shipyards, docks, offshore sites, and engineering offices
- May involve site inspections, travel, and extended working hours during project deadlines
