Job Description
Key Responsibilities
Design & Engineering
- Prepare and review ship design drawings, layouts, and technical specifications.
- Develop structural, mechanical, piping, and outfitting plans for vessels.
- Conduct stability calculations, load analysis, and performance evaluations.
- Ensure compliance with maritime standards, classification rules, and statutory regulations.
Project Execution
- Coordinate shipbuilding and repair activities with production teams.
- Monitor project schedules, milestones, and engineering deliverables.
- Support dry dock and vessel conversion projects.
- Ensure timely completion of assigned engineering tasks.
Quality & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and quality standards.
- Coordinate inspections with classification societies and regulatory authorities.
- Review welding procedures, material certifications, and testing reports.
- Participate in sea trials and vessel performance testing.
Technical Coordination
- Liaise with clients, consultants, vendors, subcontractors, and shipyard departments.
- Resolve technical issues arising during construction or repair.
- Prepare technical reports, calculations, and project documentation.
Cost & Resource Management
- Assist in estimation of materials, manpower, and project costs.
- Optimize engineering designs for cost efficiency and operational performance.
- Support procurement team with technical evaluations of equipment and materials.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Shipbuilding Engineering.
- Relevant experience in shipbuilding, ship repair, offshore, or marine engineering projects.
- Knowledge of ship design software such as:
- AutoCAD
- AVEVA Marine
- NAPA
- Rhino Marine
- ShipConstructor
- Familiarity with IMO regulations and classification society rules such as:
- International Maritime Organization
- Lloyd's Register
- DNV
- American Bureau of Shipping
Required Skills
- Strong technical and analytical skills

Preferred Experience

- Experience in shipyard production planning and supervision
- Familiarity with ERP/project management systems
